High School Principal's Welcome
Dear High School Parents,
I would like to welcome you to the 2021-22 school year at Morrison Academy. Whether this is your first year here or you’ve been here for many years, we are excited to have you and look forward to partnering with each of you as we begin another fantastic school year.
Each year is filled with opportunities for students to grow academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Our staff are here to teach, guide, and mentor your child throughout the year in the classroom, on the stage, on the field, or maybe just around campus.
Each year we have a school-wide theme or focus for all grade levels. This year, our theme is “Flourish” which is based on the Bible verse, Psalm 52:8 - “But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love, forever and ever.” After studying this verse, praying, and seeking God’s direction in how to use this theme, this is what I challenged students with on the first day:
- Be humble - think of others first.
- Pursue the truth - be willing to listen and learn about Jesus Christ. Ask teachers questions as you continue seeking answers to life’s big questions.
- Continue to persevere - life can be tough and unpredictable. It’s not about what happens to you but how you respond. Be like the olive tree, strong, tough, resilient.
As we continue to have in person instruction, I would like to ask that you please encourage/help your child to follow our dress code, be on time to each class, and keep phones put away during classes. These are 3 items from our Student/Parent Handbook that we deal with the most.
We are very thankful to have most of our students in classes now and it won’t be long until everyone will be able to be on campus together. We look forward to working with you and seeing you on campus this year.
Mr. Doug Bradburn
