Mark Heffner

Mark-Heffner

2012 Inductee

Hustle, heart, and effort are the words that describe Mark Heffner. He knew only one speed: 110%. He was a tenacious defender in soccer and basketball and is credited with one of the greatest highlight goals in Morrison history; a leaping header while being knocked off his feet that beat a tough TAS team in the waning moments of the 1984 trophy game. Along with being MVP in soccer, Mark is #11 in career goals with 21. Mark’s basketball accomplishments are just as impressive. He was MIP in 1984 on a team that beat every other American high school by at least 20 points including a Hong Kong championship. He captained the 1985 team and wound up on the following all-time lists: #3 in career assists with 187 and has the highest single season steal total ever with 113 in 1985. Mark was a competitor that had a contagious effect on all his teammates raising their level of play.
