Ruth Johnson was a shining star for Morrison women’s athletics in the 1960’s. She led her teams in multiple sports including basketball, volleyball and track and field. In basketball she scored 16 points per game in her senior year and led the team to a winning record, including a season ending win over TAS. In track and field she was an excellent long jumper and high jumper. She held the school record in the long jump for 15 years with a jump of 4.71m (15’5”). Her senior year she won the Outstanding Female Athlete award at the American schools All-Island Track and Field Meet.
